Home Baked Challenge-July

We had another reason to go down to the sea today. This month the home baked challenge is all about local produce.
So we went to the local fishing co-op and bought some hake. They also sold us some samphire (which grows locally). The potatoes are from the supermarket but were grown locally.

Hake in an agrodolce sauce (tomato puree, mixed nuts, ginger, garlic, salad burnet, fresh basil, balsamic vinegar and sugar), with Marsh Samphire, and pan fried potatoes.

Wooden Spoon Puppets

The local art trail held an art session for children.
We went along for a spot of puppet making.

"Honey, I'm home!"

We were taking M to the airport and had some time to kill,
so we stopped off at Hylands House .
The gardens there are very beautiful.
